Our very own Vice President of Strategy at iSalus Healthcare, Kraig Vondran, gives us an in-depth look into what makes him happy, gets on his nerves, his favorite food, vacation, what animal he would like to be reincarnated as and much more in this month’s Getting to Know iSalus.
Q: What is your role at iSalus?
A: I’ve had a couple but right now I’m known as Vice President of Strategy.
Q: How long have you been with iSalus and what’s your favorite part of your job?
A: Six years total. My first stint was three years as the CEO of iSalus. My second stint is three years running and hopefully many more years. My favorite part of the job is that I get to build relationships with our partners and provide them with solutions that really do make their practices better.
Q: What is your favorite word?
A: Grit.
Q: What is your least favorite word?
A: Can’t
Q: If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
A: On a Mountain Lake.
Q: What is your idea of earthly happiness?
A: To be with the people I love (including our dogs), surrounded by good conversation, music, food, fine wine, scotch and a cigar.
Q: What, in your mind, would be the greatest misfortune?
A: To die without having lived or taken chances in life and just settled for the status quo.
Q: What sound or noise do you hate?
A: Anyone screaming!
Q: What natural gift would you most like to possess?
A: Being more spontaneous.
Q: If you were reincarnated as some other plant or animal, what would it be?
A: Great White Shark.
Q: What profession other than your own would you most like to attempt?
A: FBI Profiler.
Q: What is your favorite pastime or hobby?
A: Golfing, Fishing, enjoying the outdoors and lifting weights.
Q: What is the one thing you do every single day that never changes?
A: Read news and business articles.
Q: Are you a morning person or a night owl?
A: Morning.
Q: What was your favorite trip or vacation?
A: My wife and I spent a couple weeks in Europe visiting Gothenburg Sweden, Vannes France and ending with a few days in Paris.
Q: Are you a beach or mountain person?
A: Mountain.
Q: What is your favorite food or local place to go for a meal or treat?
A: We have a local restaurant in Manhattan, KS called Harry’s and they have an amazing Filet Royale (You can’t beat Kansas beef!).
Q: Anything else we should know?
A: My personal motto is “Once you say you are satisfied, you have admitted failure.”
