Getting to Know iSalus: Chandler Head

In this month’s edition of Getting to Know iSalus, we interview one of our Project Managers on the Implementation team, Chandler Head.

Chandler focuses on implementing iSalus’ larger groups utilizing UroChoice and NephroChoice. Additionally, he also has worked on getting NeuroChoice and other specialties on the downstream side up and running. Lastly, he also deals with implementing and training customers on any of the PM features we offer such as Intelligent Intake, AnywhereCare, Appointment Reminders, and more.

Read on as we get to know one of our talented team members.

Chandler Head

Q: How long have you been with iSalus Healthcare?

I started with iSalus in September 2018. My favorite part of my job is being able to help find creative solutions for workflow hiccups or other issues we may face during an implementation.

Q: What is your go-to productivity trick?

I have a running list that I update to keep track of all outstanding tasks that can be done that day. I try to complete as many of those items as possible while listening to music to stay focused.

Q: What is the biggest misconception people have about your position?

“We work 9-5”. Sometimes in implementation we work unconventional hours. Since our clients are spread out amongst the U.S., we get calls all throughout the day and night. This stays true for times we are on-site with clients. Usually after a long day in the clinics, we come back to an Airbnb and continue to make changes for the clients all night before returning the next morning.

Q: What was your first job?

Grill Cook at Squealer’s BBQ in Mooresville, IN.

Q: Where did you study?

High School: Center Grove

College: (1 semester) Indianapolis University: Neuroscience

Q: If you could live anywhere where would it be?

Boulder, Colorado – I love being outside. I also took a trip there when I was younger that got me hooked on the mountains there.

Q: What advice would you give to your teenage self?

Don’t move out so soon.

Q: What’s one thing you’re learning now?

JavaScript. It’s a computing language that powers most websites including our own system to complete an array of actions that wouldn’t be possible otherwise. This along with other coding languages would give me the skills to become a developer. Understanding even a basic level of languages can tremendously help pinpoint client issues.

Q: What profession other than your own would you most like to attempt?

Software Developer.

Q: What is your favourite pastime?

Listening to music, TV, reading, video games.

Q: If you could only have three apps on your smartphone, which would you pick?

Spotify, Uber, Amazon.

Q: What’s the weirdest food you’ve ever eaten?

Alligator.

Q: What was your favourite trip?

We have a yearly trip down to Tennessee we take with my family (including Blake Head & Kim Poland). We spend a lot of time down there but it’s always nice getting all the Head brothers together (and dangerous).

Q: Any favourite local eats that you’d recommend?

Fogo De Chao.

Q: What’s the first concert you ever went to?

Nickleback (I know) was the first concert. Todd Snider was the best.

Q: What’s one song you have completely memorized?

Girl from North Country – Bob Dylan.

We love Chandler’s dedication to self-improvement, the implementation team, and our clients. We’re also secretly judging his first concert choice but love his favourite local restaurant.
