Q: How long have you been with iSalus Healthcare?

I have been with iSalus Healthcare 14 years this month, and my favorite part of my job is working with all my colleagues and our customers.

Q: What is your go-to productivity trick?

All of my tricks come from Brian Tracy, author of “Eat that Frog”. Always have a clear vision for your goals and work from a prioritized task list. Think on paper.

Q: What is the biggest misconception people have about your position?

I do not think many understand my position, and I will admit it’s hard to explain the various roles I fill. A misconception is that I am a computer nerd and understand how computers work and how to fix them.

Q: What was your first job?

I worked at Dairy Queen. I lasted a whole 2 weeks…

Q: Where did you study?

I studied Informatics with a minor in Pre-Professional Speech-Language Pathology at Indiana University. I went to school with the intention of becoming a Speech Pathologist, but quickly learned I really loved technology and wanted to help those in the medical field provide better care to their patients.

Q: If you could live anywhere where would it be?

I really enjoy my life out in the country on our farm here in central Indiana. If my husband did not farm, we would escape to a tropical island and live on the beach. I am such a free spirit and love to be on the beach and around water.

Q: What advice would you give to your teenage self?

You are meant to showcase and spread your wings, not hide in your shell.

Q: What’s one thing you’re learning now?

I am learning how to be more effective with my activities with better planning and task execution – always work from a prioritized task list!

Q: If you were reincarnated as an animal, what would it be?

A bird so I could fly. I’m also fascinated with birds.

Q: What profession other than your own would you most like to attempt?

I currently am a health and fitness coach in my free time, and I enjoy helping other busy ladies eat healthy, balanced meals and move their bodies from home.

Q: What is your favourite pastime?

Fashion.

Q: If you could only have three apps on your smartphone, which would you pick?

TikTok because it’s carefree and funny and allows me to express myself in a new, creative way. My Beachbody On Demand App that I use to stream my workouts from, find new healthy recipes in and connect with my “fit fam” who help me stay consistent with my healthy lifestyle. Finally, my Music App as music is such a powerful way to express our emotions. It can lift us up on our worst days.

Q: What’s the weirdest food you’ve ever eaten?

Beet Cupcakes. When I first started my healthy lifestyle, I decided to make them for my son’s birthday party. I did not have traditional cake or desserts available. Clear and utter failure! Do not ever do that ya’ll!! #LiveAndLearn

Q: What was your favourite trip?

Our most recent trip to Disney World with my husband and our kiddos.

Q: What’s the first concert you ever went to?

My first concert was New Kids on the Block. The best concert I’ve been to – Keith Urban! His live performance is 400% better than any of his recorded tracks and he puts on a great show!

Q: Any favourite local eats that you’d recommend?

My current favorite restaurant is Bru Burger. While they are known for their hamburgers, I love their Gorgonberry Pecan Salad with Grilled Salmon on top.

Q: What’s one song you have completely memorized?

Many songs – I love music!

We love Carly’s passion for health and fitness, the iSalus team, our clients and her family (fit-fam included)! While Bru Burger does have amazing burgers, their salad options are definitely choice.
